Chris Nelsen Memorial Scholarship for Agriculture & Agronomy

The Chris Nelsen Memorial Scholarship is funded by generous donations from the friends and family members of Chris Nelsen. Ongoing, the scholarship is awarded on an annual basis using interest gained from investments managed by the York Community Foundation in York, Nebraska. The objective of the scholarship is to honor Chris’ dedication to agriculture, agronomy and the business of farming.

Continued support for the scholarship will come from private donations from family and friends of Chris. A five‐person committee comprised of two (2) family members and three (3) non‐family will award one scholarship based on the availability of those funds.

Deserving high school seniors or currently enrolled, non‐graduating undergraduate or graduate students will have the opportunity to complete the application process. Qualified applicants will have a permanent address or family member within York, Frontier or Lincoln County. Ranking of applications will be based on the embodiment of Chris’ belief in agriculture, agronomy and/or the farming community. The scholarship is merit‐based; however not based on a demonstrated financial need.
