Book of Living Gifts

The Book of Living Gifts was established in 1985 as a way of honoring deceased loved ones and friends while providing a way to make a financial gift to benefit local, qualified, non-profit organizations.

  • Contributions to the Book of Living Gifts help support the York Community Foundation Endowment Fund, which will be used to provide grants for programs and projects, to benefit the York community. Contributions to the Book of Living Gifts are tax deductible.
  • The Book of Living Gifts is located on the first floor of Cornerstone Bank and is accessible for viewing during normal business hours.
  • If you wish to have a name added to the Book of Living Gifts, the following information is needed: the name of the deceased printed as you want it inscribed in the book; the year of their birth; the year of their death; the name and address of the person you want an acknowledgement sent to; your name and address, and a check made payable to the York Community Foundation.  No minimum contribution is required.
  • The York Community Foundation will notify the family of the deceased in writing making them aware that a contribution has been made in the name of their loved one.
  • You will receive a receipt for your contribution.
  • The name of the deceased will be inscribed in The Book of Living Gifts.  If  multiple gifts are received for the same name, the name is inscribed only once.
